ABOUT JURRIAAN KAMP
Jurriaan Kamp, born and raised in the Netherlands, where he studied International Law at Leyden University, is a California-based Dutch journalist, author, television personality, and entrepreneur. Kamp is known for the positive focus in his interviewing and interest in finding the solutions to problems.
As homage to people who are making the world a better place, he named his first magazine The Intelligent Optimist (formerly Ode). Today Jurriaan produces the climate solutions series THE WAY OUT for EarthxTV and PBS Socal.
Jurriaan is frequently contributing to conferences and events as a keynote speaker. moderator and clean energy expert. He has contributed to Gastech, GET and Hydrogen Americas.
Earlier in his career, Jurriaan was India correspondent and Chief Economics Editor for the leading Dutch newspaper NRC.
In 1995 in the Netherlands, Jurriaan started his own magazine focused on solutions for people and planet. He launched the international English edition from San Francisco in 2004. He has lived and worked in California ever since.
Since 1995, Jurriaan is known for his “solutions journalism.” When he wrote his first story on sustainability, he had to explain what the word meant. He first wrote about the hydrogen economy twenty years ago.
Jurriaan’s special reports have profiled many fascinating people including the entrepreneurs who are leading the clean energy economy and the pioneers who are building bridges between ancient
traditions and modern medicine. His guests have included Sir Richard Branson, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Deepak Chopra, Johan Rockstrom, among many others.
Jurriaan lives in Santa Barbara, California with his beloved Nancy McGrath.
